That said, this isn't a great matchup, but you can't justify ranking Herbert any lower than this given the weapons he has at his disposal. Wentz has scored two-plus touchdowns in six straight games, and it would be surprising if he doesn't do that in this spot. Dallas is a bottom defense against fantasy QBs, so this sets up to be another strong day for Ryan. Cordarrelle Patterson and Kyle Pitts are emerging as strong weapons, and given the shootout potential of this matchup, the recipe for fantasy success is there.
Tampa Bay's defense showed signs of improvement from their early-season struggles, but the last time we saw it, Trevor Siemian had no problem completing passes and moving the chains. Heinicke has multiple QB1 performances this year, and since Tampa Bay will likely score 40 points, we could see a season-high passing attempt total from him. Logan Thomas hamstring is supposed to be back, so Washington's offense figures to be as healthy as it has been in some time coming off of a bye week.
The Chargers had the fourth-best defense against fantasy quarterbacks heading into Week 9 and limited Jalen Hurts to 16 fantasy points.
Cousins' weekly ranking will always be heavily dependent on matchups, and given the fact LA is stellar against the position, he sits as a mid-tier QB2. Cleveland limited Joe Burrow to his worst fantasy performance of the season 9. The strength of the defense is against running backs, so this figures to be more of a pass-happy game script for New England.
When the game script has allowed it, Jones has been productive. His ceiling is certainly limited, but he should have somewhat of a decent floor in this contest. Detroit's defense is right in the middle of the league in fantasy points per game allowed to quarterbacks, as teams often let up in the fourth quarter against the Lions. We still view this as a favorable matchup, but Roethlisberger remains unable to push the ball down the field. QB18 is an improvement from his usual ranking.
We'd be surprised if the Steelers' passing game looks explosive at all this season. Just when it looked like Bridgewater's rest-of-season trajectory was declining, he had a classic yards, two-TD performance against Dallas.
He reminded us that he's a great streaming option in favorable matchups, but Philadelphia is a strong team against fantasy QBs. Before getting shredded by Justin Herbert, the Eagles gave up the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position and have only been exposed by Herbert and Patrick Mahomes.
There's no question he can exceed expectations, but we like some of the other options more. During that time, he had a combined nine touchdown passes. Consider Burrow a top option. Derek Carr at Giants 1 p. He's been a nice fantasy producer on the road, averaging 23 points per game, and the Giants have allowed four different signal-callers to score plus fantasy points against them this season. That list includes Teddy Bridgewater and Taylor Heinicke, who aren't exactly elite options at the position.
Kirk Cousins at Ravens 1 p. ET, Fox : Cousins against the Ravens as a start 'em? Am I insane? Well, look at the numbers. Four quarterbacks have scored over 22 fantasy points against Baltimore this season, including Derek Carr and Carson Wentz.
One of those games, against the Colts, came at home. Overall, their defense has allowed just under 19 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
So maybe I'm not crazy? Tyrod Taylor at Dolphins 1 p. The Dolphins have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, and Taylor looked great in his first two games before suffering an injury.
He's available in many leagues for those who need help off the waiver wire. Ryan Tannehill at Rams p. ET, NBC : Tannehill has been an inconsistent option for fantasy fans this season, scoring fewer than 19 fantasy points in five of his first eight games. Matt Ryan at Saints 1 p.
